The Science Behind the Need for Supplements (March 30, 6-8 PM)

What does the new science of Optimal Nutrition say about the role of macro and micro nutrients such as CoQ10, Vit. E, C, B12, B6, flavonoids and carotenoids, etc.? What are free radicals and antioxidants? What are botanical and synthetic supplements?

Holistic Approach to Supplements (April 6, 6-8 PM)

Why do we need Public Health Education on matters pertinent to the fields of Holistic Health, Optimal Nutrition, Nutritional Biochemistry, Immunology, and the dangers of environmental toxins in air, water,
and food. Also why the need to include lifestyle changes and stress management when talking about nutritional supplements and health promotion?

Identifying, Evaluating, and Comparing Supplements (April 13, 6-8 PM)

What are some of the common misconceptions regarding supplements? Who is responsible for protecting us from greedy unethical suppliers? How can consumers recognize hype and promotional schemes? What are the top selling supplements? What do these abbreviations mean to you: FDA, RDA, DV, and NRC?

Enrollment Fee: $15 each class or $50 for full 4-part series. Attend 1 or all 4!

About Dr. Juan A. Robles Dr.PH, MPH, MDiv, RN, BA:

Dr. Juan a. Robles, is an Professor Emeritus from the California University System. He has over 40 years of experience as an educator in the fields of Public Health, Mental Health, Stress management, Alternative Healing, and Nursing . His educational background includes a Doctoral Degree in Public Health specializing in Preventive Medicine and Adolescent Health. He also holds
a Degree in Nursing, two Masters, two Baccalaure-ates and
a School Nurse and Teaching Credentials. He became the first male School Nurse in the state of California. He now lives in Sarasota, Florida.
