Basic Fermentation

Join Jillian for a Basic Fermentation Class at Wild Ginger Apothecary: Studio + Lounge on Thursday August 3rd at 6:30pm.

A general overview and discussion of beginning methods of lacto fermentation (the traditional way food has been preserved for centuries, super probiotic rich and healing for digestive issues). Jillian will go over the science and methods of how to properly ferment foods and beverages of all kinds. She also will discuss the tools that are used and how to source the products needed to use ferments in the home.

Jillian will bring items to show and share with the class so you can become more familiar. These include: Sauerkraut, Kimchi, Beet Kvass, Milk/Water Kefir, Kombucha, various Lacto-fermented pickles/vegetables, etc. Everyone will get to sample different items!

This class will serve as a prerequisite for the advanced classes that will be offered this fall.

$15 per person or 2/$20!
About Jillian Ross:
I have been actively experimenting with traditional fermentation of different foods and beverages for the past 7 years. I was on a quest to self heal, after being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. It was then that I discovered, The Art of Fermentation, by Sandor Katz. He is my guru of all things fermented and through his teachings I was able to completely overhaul and restore my body to its optimal health, with zero medications.

I live in FL, where I enjoy time outside with my hands in the dirt, growing my own food, raising my chickens and wild foraging whenever I get the chance.
